Sorry, I still don't get it. A sub committee of the Car Club going head to head with the BIG EVENT at Silverstone - looks like self destruction mode. As both events fail to get the numbers.

Personally the MG Fest should be scrubbed and all the Car Clubs efforts should make Silverstone bigger and better!

Agree with what you are saying Jerry. Why try and split the membership.

It's a strange setup indeed something is going to give and it's going to turn messy, possable breakaway club from the main body if it attract's more visitors next year.

Indeed Byron, from the reports I've read about this years event it wasn't the success that they had hoped for. Would have been better as a one day MGF event if the insist on splitting away from the main club.

And this is only going to devalue the long established club's,to be honest i have no interest in going to fest or silverstone mind you i would like to go one year (silverstone),having gone to the Oxford MG club's annual cotswold meeting for the past two year's i have found it very enjoyable and well worth the effort, alot of Zed's present at this meet which always help's if i'm honest as i'm more of a Zed head than a TF head :D.

So, how many are attending this event? Have they succeeded in persuading you all to attend?

Clashes with the Macdroitwich AGM & BBQ (http://www.phpbber.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4459&mforum=macdroitwich), sadly.

I don't like the way the F/TF movement think they are above the club that founded them. They should pull with the CC, not against them. If it wasn't for the strength of the CC and OC there wouldn't have even been a mid-engined Metro in the first place.

Either way, I'll be at the MacDroitwich AGM, after visiting the London Motorfair. Everyone from here is more than than welcome.

Sorry to disagree with you Lord Sward and others.

The F/TF Register is heavily involved with the MGCC supplying many of the members that made the CC events such as the Silverstone weekend the success that they are. We realise as does the MGCC, the 'newer' generation of MGs is the way forward for the MGCC to keep growing. The Register is actively working with the MGCC and support most of the CC events even if the events are further a field than just the UK.

Full support is given to the F Register by the MGCC so they don't have an issue with the Register organising their own events which are open to all MG's which has to be good for the MGCC as a whole. There is no split - just a Register working hard to please its members and to grow the MG community as a whole.

Each to their own. If you don't like the way the F Register is behaving you can 'vote' with your feet but the MGCC like what is happening so you can make your own mind up from that.

Keith, that's exactly the point - you do as you please.

One thing is for sure - with membership dwindling as MG cars fade away - the Clubs will have to use initiative to survive.

I've said all I want to say about the MG Fest though......

Except one thing - is anyone taking a camera? Do you want a gallery?

Well good luck on this years fest as last year's was not as good as they would have liked, each to there own as said above and they are going to need something to keep the faith with MG's as drivers are leaving the brand more than ever now it's been 4 years and 2 since nanjing took over and still no cars.

What with Gary laid up - looks as though we won't be needing a Gallery for this event.

Get well soon.
