Been thinking of selling this car. Job - cash ect!

But, just can't bring myself to do it.

Effortless performance from the diesel motor - 286bhp and 38mpg with enough torque to pull down tower blocks - its awesome.

Spend £450 to chip it and its got 345bhp.

Max is working on a deal to exchange it for something half its value - should know if we've succeeded tomorrow!

I am torn between a 330d manual and a 335d but am wondering what type of real world MPG you are getting? Do you get close to the offical 38MPG?

The CDTi has to go in Feb and I have to place an order soon but can't decide!

Rich,

I can honestly say the car gives 38mpg. Of course it can drop to 35 around town and above 38 cruising at 85-90 on the motorway.

Performance is effortless and its ultra reliable. It's just that I'm out of a job soon - hence its for sale.

Don't know if mine would suit you? 10,500 miles - full spec Coupe.

Sorry to hear about the job situation, hope something comes along soon for you.

38 MPG sounds very good indeed Jerry and i image with the new efficient dynamics fitted over 40 would be a possibility.

I think I am going to buy new - Drive the deal is getting about 15% off list at present with a good finance deal too and i think that's too good to turn down. I am also really after an M-Sport Saloon as with the kids and the job a coupe might be a bit impracticle.

ZT Gone, 330d ordered for March 1st Delivery - hope it's as good as the ZT was.

Manual or Diesel?

My only gripe are the run flat tyres.

Auto but with paddle shift. RFT will be changed once worn for sure.

I agree - there's been a set of Schnitzer 20" wheels in our local dealer - vying for my money for 12 months. Can't justify the dosh though!

And YES still no job - the end is nigh in 4 months.

Sorry to hear no change in the job situation Jerry.

Peter - I live about 2 miles from Synter Oldbury (just off Junc 2 M5). While a couple of their sales guys are poor there is a young guy called David Tibbets who helped us a lot. We will be using him again for the wifes car soon.

I was able to get 13% off list, which at present, is a very good deal indeed.

That is a good deal - shows how desperate ALL car dealers are becoming.

My discount was 7% ( that was 15 months ago).

Hope its all you want. Mate has a 330d who has had it chipped and get 280bhp and still SAYS he gets 50mpg.

Supposedly, I can get 340bhp following a chip. I do think a Quaife LSD does make sense though.

Have you bought the SATNAV ect (can't remember the BMW name). For me this is a fantastic TOY, with all the other integrated extras - phone ect.

Hi Jerry

I think I got a good deal because Sytners buy in some stock in advance and this car was already built and in stock but unregistered. The car was the spec I wanted apart from missing DAB radio.

Yes I got a few toys:-

330d M-Sport in Metalic Black
Pro Sat Nav
Xenons
Heated Seats
Hi-Fi Speaker Upgrade
Dakota Black Leather
Power folding anti dazzle mirrors
USB/Audio Interface
Sun Protection Glass
Voice control
Bluetooth
Auto gearbox with paddle shift

So the list price on this was about £39.5K and I got it for £34.25K but then they offered a finance deal as well at 5.5% AND an extra 1K deposit so in the end I have paid £33.25k and 5.5% finance.

With regards to remapping yes 280 BHP and 600nm is possible IF you have auto box. Most remapers will not touch 330d Manual as the box will not take it. However I am not intending to get the car remaped (Famous last words of course).

There appears to be a lot of discussion on the 335d remapping side with somje disapointing results. A lot of this is due to the fact that most 335d appear to give close on 300BHP as standard, one even recorded 310 out of the box.

I think 50MPG is optimistic! My friend has an 07 plate 330d coupe manual and he gets about 42 MPG. Mine will be an auto but has the efficient dynamics which appear to give about 4-5MPG more on both the 330d and 335d. So I will be happy with 40+.

Sad seeing the ZT go yesterday and the end of 22 years of MGR ownership (although we still have the wifes ZR for now) but the BMW was the only suitable replacement apart from the new XF which I would have brought but it was just a little too wide for our garage.

Roll on the 1st March!

We have met in past so I do know where you are, Did not know that Ryland Oldbury was now Sytner. ( Not owned by sytner now as group was sold to, I think, Roger Pensky,s (Spelling !) automotive group a few years ago.

Yes it changed from Ryland to Sytner about a year ago I think and they have had all new buildings including a huge new bodyshop about a mile away.

As is my luck - it would appear the bottom as dropped out of the BMW market. I guess this is justified by the deal you had Rich with yours.

Bit of a dilemna as to what to do. Something has to be done though!
