I see you guys are progressing well.
The pub is a handy place to meet - we used to use in the great days of the XPF BTCC meets - I don't think we ever asked them before hand for permission.
I also have an XPF Gazebo - of the same quality as those used by MG, Leda and Rally Matt. I don't have any use for it and at the end of the month nowhere to store it. Could be of use for you guys if you can find a buyer for it.
First seen when we sold Raffle tickets for the MG TF we auctioned for WSR in 2004! This must have been one of the greatest things a small Forum ever did.

Another thought have you guys asked those on the Brit-Car Forum - they own a lot of MG's between them?
Thought about going (usually marshal at as many MGCC meetings as I can get to) but it's the day after my birthday and I 'may' be away for a few days :D

I'm sure Penfold has all bases covered - but the people who printed the old XPF shirts did it in a short time period. If he needs info, more than happy to pass it on.

No, that's far too late. In my experiance (lots of) MGCC races start far earlier than that and besides - we are in the second week of January. Lets not make time decisions until a week or so before the event. :)
MGCC race meetings typically have the first practice / qualifyinmg session starting at 9:00 a.m.

Hello Steve, thanks for getting in touch. Paul Kneeshaw has been working with the MG Car Club on this for some 8 months or so already and we support him - and the students at Sir Harry Smith Community College - fully. Paul and the students brought the car to our Silverstone International event last June to show it off and they got lots of valuable feedback from that event. The race debut for the first car was at our Snetterton race meeting last October and both (maybe all 3?) ZSs will be racing in our 'Peter Best Insurance Challenge' Championship this year.
Ref. Donnington on March 24th, this is an MG Car Club race meeting. We are trying to arrange with Donnington Park for dedicated MG parking, a bulk ticket deal, free paddock access and some parade laps during the lunch break. The club itself will be organising a hospitality area for racers and club members. We would also like to organise a meeting of the 'Z Register' of the club (take a look at www.mgcc.co.uk to see how the club works in model groups (Registers) and areas (Centres)) to which everyone is invited.
I enclose a timetable of our race meetings for 2008 - both the PBIC and the MG Trophy (MGFs vs ZRs) will have one or two races at every one of these meetings. Again, we will be encouraging MG people to turn up and support the racers and we are tryin to put together a similar package for each event.

Richard is clearly promoting the MGCC and I guess he wants you all to join the MGCC to get hospitality and a lap or two. Although,

I would suggest it may be a good thing for all parties. Get interest in the MGCC - you get FREE parking and a few laps and subscription to a good magazine.
You best join - just looked at the XPF thread and I think everyone has missed the point, although what you get is confusing.
EDIT - read it again and this is what you get regardless of the MGOC!
Dedicated Parking, Bulk ticket deal, Paddock access and Parade Laps!
Plus if your are a Z Register memeber - the above plus a ZED reg meet!

I have been talking to Stephen Turner (boon65) and Peter Burchill (one of the ZS drivers) about this. Peter provided the most up to date list of people earlier this week. The MG Car Club - which is the promoter and organiser of the whole event - aims to arrange the following, subject to availability:
- Reduced admission price
- Dedicated MG parking area
- Free paddock pass
- An MG marquee as a meeting point
- Some sort of hospitality if possible
- Free copies of the club magazine
- Parade laps of the circuit in your own car (behind the club's MG ZT-T pace car at 50mph, sorry!)

I'm very happy to support all forums including XPF but I haven't posted there in months and won't after asked not to.
However, you should get the T-shirts made - YOU WILL sell them and it will gell the MG community together.
Just keep the colours to 2/3 and buy them in batches, first batch say 20. If the price drops reimburse those who have paid a lot more. Pressure them Steve - it will work.

Thanks Jerry for Your support we will try to get as much feedback as possible on the t-shirts over the next week and then take it from there. Penfold118 has really pushed to get it sorted and is going to see the t-shirt printers monday/tuesday next week so they can come up with the best design we can get and then we will post the design on all the forums involved and see what everyone thinks and then get it produced well before the Donnington meet. As to getting the MG/Rover community so far it seems there has been alot of interest from all the forums involved and its bringing them all a little closer together and hopefully if all goes to plan should be at the meet should be very good for all of us to get together as one big Happy MG/Rover community and Support the Lunar Racing team and the Kids from the School involved.

Hi Patrick, the answer to your Question is Yes as soon as we get the Times from The MGCC we will let you all know, but think it will be early due to what time they have there practice sessions, but the times will be posted way before the meet date and will keep you updated on whats happening every day as soon as we know ourselves.

It's good to have an open mind about people. But it would be better for all if that name stayed away.
It spoils it for the others - there's not many people out there who create such bad feeling for some individuals as he does.
Personally, he always been OK to me - but all the other people can't be lying can they?

Just a small update i will not be coming to this meet as both MG'S will have been sold by the end of the month,it's going to be a sad day for us as we had an MG in the drive for the past 6 years or so

Good morning Steve
To answer your questions:
- Advance package comprising, ticket, programme, paddock transfer will be available, most likely from the club. Open to members of the club and, for this event only (at the moment) to forum supporters too. Price is tba depending on what Donnington offers us but it will represent a discount on list prices.
- Parking will DEFINTELY be all MGs together, club members or not. We've got to stick together haven't we? If you want to arrange the cars by model that's fine, or all mixed is equally good. We are arranging the preferred parking in the best area we can get. The club will have some sort of marquee there to act as a base for ALL MG folks to get together.
- The final exact schedule is only ever put together in the last few weeks before the event when we know what entries we have. However, I can tell you that the timetable is as follows:
09:00 Qualifying begins
12:00 (at the earliest) First race
18:00 Racing ends
- Again, the exact race order is only decided at a later stage so I can't tell you yet, but I can tell you that the races taking place will be:

I don't really think you need to arrange a meet up before the event but if you want to I understand that turning up all together looks very impressive! If you want to catch all the qualifying you need to be at the track by 09:00 but you can still catch all the racing by turning up before 12:00.

A update from Boon (Steve)
had a return call from Richard jones GM of the MGCC and spoke to him for around 30 mins, what he has said is that, the MGCC are in talks with the Donnington Circuit to Buy a package of tickets just for all the forum Members to purchase from The MGCC at a discounted price to to main Donnington gate prices, this will be available from the MGCC to buy either from there online shop or to buy over the Phone which they will let me know as soon as they become available for us to purchase were to buy them from and how much they will cost. also in the ticket price will be a Race Meet program and a paddock pass for all the forum members and there familys. also on the Dedicated Parking Area there will be Signs posted around Donnington showing Forum Members where to go, and the MGCC have said they will be setting up a couple of large Marquees for us all to meet up in so no matter what the weather is we will have somewhere to meet up. so as soon as the tickets become available he will e-mail me with all the information we need where to purchase our tickets from.

It's a shame they are all so splintered.
What is more rewarding is how Richard is being so cooperative. You are in effect doing their organising. Maybe time that the Zed register was kick started by you guys.
